Acetal (POM)
Common name:
Acetal
Chemical Name:
Polyoxymethylene
Chemical Acronym:
POM
Common resin tradenames:
Delrin, Celcon, Ultraform
Acetal offers high strength, stiffness, and fatigue resistance, enabling reliable, long-life components in both injection molded and machined forms. Its low friction and excellent wear properties make it ideal for gears, bearings, and sliding wear elements where lubrication is difficult or undesirable.
For injection molding, acetal provides predictable shrink, good flow, low moisture absorption, and dimensional stability for tight-tolerance complex high-volume parts. From a machining standpoint, acetal shapes cut cleanly, hold tolerance, resist warping after heavy machining while yielding smooth surface finishes with minimal tool wear.
WarrenPSI offers both homopolymer (Delrin) and co-polymer based POM grades:
Colors
Standard and custom colors are available in both POM-H and POM-C. FDA and Medical colors are available upon request.
Wear Grades
PTFE fiber filled grades like Delrin AF, AF Blend and DE588 and PTFE powder filled grades like HPV13. We also make silicon oil and chemical lubricant grades such as Delrin CL
Glass reinforced
ESD
A POM-C based grade that contains an inorganic, water-absorbing salt to provide static-dissipation. The hygroscopic inorganic salt absorbs ambient water, forming a conductive ionic pathway that safely bleeds off charge rather than allowing it to accumulate and arc. Unlike carbon-filled systems, this material provides a smooth, non-sloughing, clean surface which is useful around sensitive components and cleanliness-critical environments.
Contact us for over runs as we may have small quantities of the above grades in stock already.

Custom Product Offerings:
WarrenPSI specializes in the extrusion of stock shapes to the customer’s specialized requirements. We have the capability to produce rods and plates from virtually any combination of engineering-grade thermoplastic base resin and filler package.
